Small buildings projects that meet BC Building codes and can be quite affordable.
This project started with the renovation of an existing garage into a studio space. The next phase was the addition of a sun-room which bridges the new studio space to the main residence. As the project went on it was decided to add 2 more skylights to the south side of the roof.
A 350 s.f. studio project. Recycled fir flooring, cedar cased windows, and cedar trim were used on the project. Two recycled structural beams were used as well as salvaged cedar shakes for part of the exterior clad.
An example of a '10 square' 100 s.f. cabin falling within all of the requirements exempting this building from a BC building permit.
